This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

We collect only what you send us. We use it to answer you and to advise you. We do not sell it, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for. If you want it deleted, email hello@brandleys.com and we will do it.
Who we are
Brandleys Legal Ltd, trading as brandleys, is the data controller for the information described in this policy. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 16504304, with a registered office at Kemp House, 160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. What we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us. There are two ways that happens on this site.
When you contact us. Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address, company and a description of what you need help with. Anything you write in that description is up to you.
When you use one of our tools. The tools on this site run entirely in your browser and send nothing anywhere unless you fill in the form at the end. If you do, we receive your name, email address, company, which tool you used, the result it gave you and the answers you selected. If you close the page without submitting, we never see any of it.
A note about sensitive subjects
Some of our tools and guides deal with difficult matters: suspected fraud, blackmail demands, insider leaks, reputational attacks. Please share only what you need to in a web form. If a matter is genuinely sensitive, say so briefly and ask for a call, and we will take the detail somewhere more appropriate.
Why we hold it, and our lawful basis
We use what you send us to reply to you, to assess whether and how we can help, and to provide services if you go on to instruct us.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services, and where you become a client, the performance of our contract with you. Where we are required to keep records for legal or regulatory reasons, our basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run this site and our business:
Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our inbox. Submissions are held on their systems for a limited period before automatic deletion, in accordance with their own privacy terms.
Our email and IT providers host the inbox and files in which your enquiry is then stored.
Where a matter requires reserved legal activities or regulated immigration advice, we work with regulated partners. We will tell you before sharing your information with a partner for that purpose.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and there is nothing here that follows you around the internet.
We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages and guides people find useful. It counts visits and pages without cookies and without building a profile of you, and it does not identify individuals. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those files from Google when you view a page.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry does not become a matter, we keep it for up to two years so we have context if you come back to us, then delete it. If you become a client, we keep files for as long as our professional and legal obligations require, which is typically several years after a matter closes. You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner at any time.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it elsewhere. Some of these rights are qualified where we have a legal obligation to retain records.
Email hello@brandleys.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Security
Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries is limited to those who need it. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects you and we are required to do so.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
One thing worth repeating. Nothing you read on this site is legal advice, and sending us an enquiry does not make us your lawyers. Advice begins when terms are agreed in writing.
